Join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice for its next meeting on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 1-3pm EDT. Hear the latest updates on the Academic Health Department Learning CommunityCore Competencies for Public Health Professionals, and Retention and Recruitment Toolkit. The meeting agenda, materials, and additional information will be made available on the meeting webpage as the date approaches.

New Academic Health Department Partnerships Toolkit

The newly redesigned PHF.org makes it easier than ever to access key public health resources with a modern look, improved navigation, and mobile-friendly design. One new resource available is the Academic Health Department (AHD) Partnerships Toolkit. Developed by the Public Health Foundation (PHF) in collaboration with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, the toolkit organizes resources and tools to help develop, expand, and sustain AHD partnerships. Explore the AHD Partnerships Toolkit to learn more about how these partnerships enhance public health education and training, research, and service delivery.

Redesigned Retention and Recruitment Toolkit

Explore the redesigned Retention and Recruitment Toolkit, now available as an interactive webpage. Developed by the Public Health Foundation in collaboration with the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice, this toolkit offers practical strategies to strengthen your workforce; improve retention; reduce recruitment needs; and build a diverse, skilled team. Check out the Retention and Recruitment Toolkit today to find actionable solutions to support your agency’s workforce development goals.

Stories from the Field: Academic Health Department Partnerships

In collaboration with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, the Public Health Foundation has developed new success stories that highlight the power of academic health department (AHD) partnerships. Connect with PHF at NACCHO360

Join the Public Health Foundation (PHF) at the 2025 National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) 360 Conference from July 14-18, 2025, in Anaheim, CA. PHF will engage in onsite sessions, discussing retention and recruitment needs and how to use the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals to strengthen workforce development strategies. Stop by these sessions and booth #410 in the exhibit hall to meet PHF teammates and learn more about PHF’s products and services. Learn more and register.

Join NALBOH for Their Annual Conference in Historic Savannah – Registration Now Open!

The National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH) 2025 Annual Conference will take place on October 6-8, 2025 at the De Soto in Savannah, GA. Register by July 15, 2025 to take advantage of the early bird rate. Join board of health members, health officers, and other public health professionals in learning from others and interacting to develop partnerships and share solutions affecting state and local communities across the country. When registering, please be sure you are logged in to receive the NALBOH Member rate or join NALBOH today.
