The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) will be holding the 2026 Preparedness Summit on April 13-16, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland. The Preparedness Summit is the first and longest-running national conference on public health preparedness.

The 2026 Preparedness Summit features the theme Protecting Our Communities: State and Local Preparedness in Action. Join the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for our two sessions, TRAIN Utilization for Emergency Response Leaders and Shared Trainings to Facilitate State and Local Emergency Response, to receive resources and tools for your organization.

TRAIN Utilization for Emergency Response Leaders

Tuesday, April 14, 2026, 8-9:30am ET

Presenter: Cheryl Butler, TRAIN Learning Network Engagement Manager

Hop on board to learn how to leverage the TRAIN Learning Network (TRAIN) for your MRC unit! The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) provides access to competency-based trainings through TRAIN, the only shared learning management system focused on public health and emergency preparedness. In this session, MRC unit leaders will learn how to use their administrative access to build training course collections and track their volunteers’ training progress. Powered by the Public Health Foundation, TRAIN has provided a shared platform for training local and regional emergency preparedness professionals and volunteers for over 20 years.

Shared Trainings to Facilitate State and Local Emergency Response

Virtual, available on demand

Presenter: Cheryl Butler, TRAIN Learning Network Engagement Manager

Create the backbone of a successful coordinated emergency response by leveraging prepackaged trainings from trusted sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National and Regional Centers for Disaster Medicine and Public Health. The TRAIN Learning Network makes it easy to bundle and share the types of training necessary for a variety of emergency situations. Over 400 courses are currently available in the TRAIN Course Catalog. This session will provide insight into how Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) units can tap into these valuable resources.
