Start Date: 11/12/2012

End Date: 11/18/2012

Mark your calendars for the week of November 12-18, 2012.  Get Smart About Antibiotics Week, an annual effort to coordinate the work of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work campaign, will be observed. The campaign aims to reduce the rate of antibiotic resistance by:

  • Promoting adherence to appropriate prescribing guidelines among providers,
  • Decreasing demand for antibiotics for viral upper respiratory infections among healthy adults and parents of young children, and
  • Increasing adherence to prescribed antibiotics for upper respiratory infections.

Public Health Foundation (PHF) is proud to be a partner of CDC’s Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work campaign.  As a partner, PHF promotes appropriate use of antibiotics across the country by raising awareness of related resources, working with other organizations, and disseminating timely resources.

In observance of Get Smart About Antibiotics Week, PHF will be participating in several activities and will offer up to 25% off  materials promoting CDC's Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work campaign from PHF's Online Bookstore.
