Developing a Successful Workforce Development Plan
Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 2:00-4:30pm

Presenter: Ron Bialek, President, Public Health Foundation

Workforce planning requires assessing and forecasting the needs of a public health agency to have the right number of people with the right skills, experiences, and competencies, in the right jobs, at the right time. Workforce planning is a key element of any strategic plan since it is the people who must be in place to implement and achieve the plan’s objectives. The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) requires developing and implementing a workforce development plan. This interactive workshop will focus on strategies for developing and implementing a successful plan that will meet PHAB standards and the needs of local health departments. In addition, participants will be provided with resources and tools that are useful when developing, implementing, and improving an agency's workforce development plan.
