Workforce Development: Training Strategies and Solutions

Presenters: Rhiannon Ross, Assistant CDC TRAIN Administrator, PHF, Jennifer Harmon, TRAIN Engagement Manager, PHF,

Marie Flake, TRAIN National Course Provider Engagement Manager, PHF

Description: Workforce development encompasses a lot, like competency-based job descriptions and evaluation, career ladders, workforce assessment, workforce development planning, training plans, mentoring, leadership development, and succession planning, just to name a few. While only one component of all this, training is essential and an ongoing need.  Getting the right training, to the right people, equitably, conveniently, when needed and with limited funds and time, is a challenge.  Which is why e-learning and learning management systems are widely used across all sectors – including public health. TRAIN Learning Network is the national learning management system for public health, emergency preparedness and healthcare and its free to use.

Bring your computer to this hands-on session to learn and practice how to effectively and efficiently find, save and share trainings; bundle trainings together, save and share them as collections of courses; and manage and share training documentation.
