The Core Competencies Workgroup convened for a virtual town hall meeting on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) on January 12, 2021 from 1-2pm EST. The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) is in the process of reviewing and revising the Core Competencies, and this virtual meeting was an opportunity for Core Competencies Workgroup members to provide feedback on how the Core Competencies can better serve the public health workforce.

During the meeting, the Core Competencies review and revision process was discussed and participants had a chance to share their thoughts on the Core Competencies with fellow Workgroup members and the Council on Linkages. Participants discussed how the Core Competencies can be improved to address changing needs of public health professionals and organizations.
