During the webinar, presenters introduced The Community Guide and provided an overview of how this resource can be used to navigate community solutions so that limited resources can be used to implement strategies that work. The United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley also talked about their work with their partners to launch the Gatekeeper Initiative, which uses untraditional health advocates to connect older adults with essential health and safety services. This initiative strives to connect older adults to services that can assist this population with healthy eating, physical activity, and access to mental and physical healthcare and other services to meet basic needs that impact health. The webinar addressed a number of recommendations for behavioral and mental health care for older populations.
