Exploring Successful Academic Health Department Partnerships

Join the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for a webinar on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 2-3pm EDT. This 60-minute webinar will provide an introduction to academic health department (AHD) partnerships and explore a successful partnership involving a minority-serving institution. Hear from Dr. Kimberly Giardina, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer at the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency; Dr. Amy Bonomi, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services at San Diego State University; and Dr. Nicole Magnuson, Director of the Live Well Center for Innovation and Leadership. Learn about how they formalized their partnership and how they are working collaboratively to advance education, workforce, and improve health.

  • Describe AHD partnerships
  • Demonstrate how AHD partnerships with minority-serving institutions contribute to health initiatives 
  • Identify opportunities for AHD partnerships to strengthen the public health workforce
