Strengthening Academic Health Department Partnerships for Student Success: Vermont Department of Health Environmental Scan

Join the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for their next webinar focused on academic health department (AHD) partnerships on October 27, 2025 from 2-3pm EDT. In this webinar, participants will gain a foundational understanding of AHD partnerships, with an introduction to PHF’s new AHD Partnerships Toolkit designed to support the development and sustainability of these partnerships. Then hear insights from the Vermont Department of Health (VDH) about their past and existing partnerships, highlighting student placement opportunities, and how the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) supported work with PHF on an environmental scan to improve student placement experiences for both students and VDH staff.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe AHD partnerships
  • Explain how student placements can contribute to a health department’s programs and services
  • Identify strategies for developing AHD partnerships that support the current and future public health workforce
