Join the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for their webinar focused on academic health department (AHD) partnerships on June 30, 2026 from 2-3pm EDT. In this webinar, participants will gain a foundational understanding of AHD partnerships and hear how North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS), in partnership with North Dakota State University (NDSU), created a student assistantship program that offers MPH students hands-on experience, builds leadership skills of early career staff, and strengthens public health capacity. Participants will also explore how the program has evolved over time, lessons learned along the way, and how it could serve as a blueprint for growing the next generation of public health professionals.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how the student assistantship program was established.
- Explain how the program benefits HHS, NDSU, and participating students.
- Summarize major changes and improvements that have been made to the program since its launch.
