The Academic Health Department (AHD) Learning Community will meet via conference call on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 12:00-1:30 pm EDT to further its exploration of AHDs. Three questions will form the basis for discussion at the meeting:
- What are the roles and responsibilities of individuals who are developing, sustaining, and expanding AHDs?
- What competencies help individuals develop, sustain, and expand AHDs?
- Are there particular positions within health departments and academic institutions that are well-suited for the roles and responsibilities related to developing, sustaining, and expanding AHDs?

The AHD Learning Community is a national community of public health professionals engaged in knowledge sharing and collaboration to support the use of AHDs to improve community health. All public health practitioners, educators, and researchers interested in learning more about AHDs are welcome to join the AHD Learning Community and participate in this meeting.
