Reminder! Join the Council on Linkages for June 23rd Meeting
 
Mark your calendars to join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) for its next meeting on
June 23, 2023 from 12:30-2:30pm EDT. Discuss proposed revisions to the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice: Strategic Directions and potential Council on Linkages contributions to rebuilding the public health workforce. The meeting will be held virtually, and all who are interested are welcome to attend. Join PHF at the 2023 National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) 360 Conference from July 10-13, 2023, to look to the future of the local public health workforce. PHF will engage in an on-site session, discussing our recently completed Local Health Department Workforce Capacity Assessment and Gap Analysis. Learn more and register to attend virtually.  
 
 
Pilot Test the Racial Justice Competency Model for Public Health Professionals
 
The Public Health Training Center Network (PHTCN) and the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) are seeking public health organizations to pilot test the Racial Justice Competency Model for Public Health Professionals (RJCM). 
 
An estimated 10-20 projects will be selected with each project receiving a stipend of up to $2,000. They are seeking projects from organizations that highlight the use of the RJCM in a variety of ways including, but not limited to:
  • Developing a competency-based training or microlearning using the RJCM
  • Mapping or auditing an existing training against the RJCM;
  • Creating and using job descriptions or performance reviews mapped to the RJCM; 
  • Creating and/or updating organizational strategic planning using the RJCM; 
  • Creating or updating organizational policy assessment using the RJCM; or 
  • Other novel project ideas that are submitted using the RJCM.
