Council on Linkages Representative a Featured Speaker During Future of Population Health Award Webinar
Join the Public Health Foundation for a webinar on Monday, October 23, 2017, from 1:30-2:30pm EDT highlighting the 2017 winner of the Future of Population Health Award, the University of Vermont (UVM) Medical Center. Led by the Association for Community Health Improvement's representative to the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice, Penrose Jackson, Director of Community Health Improvement, and Chief Medical Officer Stephen Leffler, UVM Medical Center collaborated with local organizations to establish Harbor Place. Harbor Place is a motel where patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital have a safe place to stay, saving the UVM Medical Center more than $1 million over a two-year period. Ms. Jackson will be joined by Dr. Leffler as featured speakers for the webinar. Visit the meeting webpage to register, and read The University of Vermont Medical Center Saves Over $1 Million through Award-winning Community Partnership for more information about this story. CDC's E-Learning Institute Fellowship Application Open
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) E-learning Institute Fellowship is offered through a partnership between CDC, a Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice member, and the Public Health Foundation, to empower education and training professionals with limited experience developing e-learning products to improve their course development skills. During this no cost, six-month online fellowship, participants will create an online training product, receive mentoring support from CDC and outside e-learning experts, collaborate with peers, and take part in online learning opportunities. Participants will also travel to the CDC offices in Atlanta, GA for an orientation and a final showcase event to present their e-learning products. The application period is now open through Friday, October 6, 2017. Learn more and apply today. |
