Open Forum: Next Generation to Feature Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals
 
Attending this week’s virtual Open Forum: Next Generation? Join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice on January 27, 2022 from 3-4pm EST for Introducing the 2021 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals: Crosscutting Skills for a High-Performing Workforce to learn more about the newly revised Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies). Come discuss how the Core Competencies are being used by public health organizations, changes in the 2021 version and how these changes address feedback from the public health community, and resources and tools that can facilitate use of the Core Competencies. Share Your Thoughts: Resources and Tools to Support the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals
 
With the release of the 2021 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies), work has begun on resources and tools to support organizations in using the Core Competencies. A crosswalk of the 2021 and 2014 Core Competencies and updates to the existing competency assessments are currently in progress. What should we work on next? Share your suggestions through the PHF Pulse blog or by emailing [email protected].
 
 
2022 Public Health Improvement Training Call for Abstracts
 
Workshop and topic submissions are invited for the 2022 Public ​Health​ Improvement Training​​ (PHIT), to be held virtually from​ June 6-8, 2022. This year’s theme, ​Leading with Performance Improvement in Times of Change, highlights the adaptability and resilience of the public health performance improvement workforce. Workshops are sought in diverse content areas with an emphasis on “how to” and skill development. Learn more about this event and submit your abstract by February 15, 2022.
