Mark Your Calendars for 2024 Council on Linkages Meetings

Join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) for its meetings in 2024.

Meetings will provide updates on all Council on Linkages activities including the Academic Health Department Learning Community, Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, contributions to rebuilding the public health workforce, and insights from guest speakers. The meetings will be held virtually, and all who are interested are welcome to attend. Meeting materials and registration information will be shared ahead of each meeting. AHD Webinar: Ask Me Anything - Academic Health Department Partnerships

Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 3-4pm EST

Partnerships between health departments and academic institutions have the potential to enhance the capacity of the organizations involved and offer a variety of benefits. Join the Council on Linkages and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for an interactive webinar focused on academic health department (AHD) partnerships on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 3-4pm EST. Explore the New e-Learning and Instructional Design Series on TRAIN 

Do you develop online learning opportunities for your agency? The new e-Learning and Instructional Design blended learning series available on the TRAIN Learning Network will help you create quality eLearning and increase training opportunities. Developed by PHF in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the series aims to support the development of skills for training professionals with limited experience designing or developing eLearning products. Call for Abstracts for APHA 2024 and APLPH Caucus Now Open 

The call for abstracts for the American Public Health Association's (APHA) 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo is now open! This year’s theme is, "Building Trust in Public Health and Science." The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH), in partnership with the Public Health Accreditation Board and PHF, invites its valued members and their partners to submit session abstracts to the Academic and Practice Linkages in Public Health (APLPH) Caucus. The caucus aims to explore and discuss innovative approaches and effective interventions that support practice, education, and applied research by building bridges between academia and practice. View session topics for the 2024 APLPH Caucus and submit your abstract by March 29th!

A Call for Public Comment on CEPH Accreditation Procedures

In an effort to maintain the highest standards in public health education, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) has proposed a series of revisions to its accreditation procedures. This initiative follows a comprehensive review by the U.S. Department of Education. Aligning with its commitment to transparency and community involvement, CEPH is inviting public comments on the proposed revisions. You can review the proposed revisions in two formats, which can be found here. Weigh in by February 15, 2024!
