2022 Public Health Improvement Training to Highlight Core Competencies and AHD Partnerships
 
Attending this year's Public Health Improvement Training (PHIT)? Mark your calendar for interactive sessions focused on workforce development planning and action with the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals and the value of academic health department partnerships in envisioning and building the public health workforce of the future. PHIT will be held virtually from June 6-8, 2022. Visit the Public Health Foundation website for additional details and the link to register for the conference. Join the Council on Linkages for June 24th Meeting
 
Mark your calendars to join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice for its next meeting on June 24, 2022 from 2-4pm EDT and hear the latest on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals and Academic Health Department Learning Community. The meeting will be held virtually, and all who are interested are welcome to attend. Competency Assessment Tools Updated with the 2021 Core Competencies
 
Following the release of the 2021 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies), the competency assessment tools provided by the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice have been updated to reflect this newest version of the Core Competencies. Four assessment tools are available: one focusing on competency statements only and one for each of the three tiers within the Core Competencies. Envisioning and Building the Public Health Workforce of the Future: The Critical Role of Partnerships Webinar Now Available
 
Partnerships between health departments and academic institutions are helping to build and strengthen public health capacity, as has been witnessed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This archived webinar explores how academic health department (AHD) partnerships have enhanced the COVID-19 response in communities across the country and can strengthen health departments as we envision and build the public health workforce of the future.
