The Public Health Foundation (PHF) is pleased to announce that Mona Zuffante, PhD, MPH, has been elected to the
PHF Board of Directors, an eleven-member body comprised of state, Tribal, and local public health officials, a local board of health member, and individuals from the academic, private sector, and other public health agency settings.
Dr. Zuffante is an enrolled member of the Seneca-Cayuga Nation of Oklahoma and has served as the Winnebago Chief Public Health Officer for 11 years. In this role, she leads the management and strategic planning for the Winnebago Public Health Department and is a part of the executive team of the Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System. Dr. Zuffante has also served as the Environmental Health Specialist for the Winnebago Tribe Environmental Health Program and serves as an EMT for the Winnebago Medical Services Program.
Dr. Zuffante's extensive public health background and work in elevating the discussion about the needs of the Indigenous people is crucial in creating equitable healthcare access. PHF is excited to have her knowledge, guidance, and support in the effort to achieve optimal health and well-being for all.
