Promoting Optimal Antibiotic Use Through Public Health and Healthcare Systems |
After identifying an increase in antibiotic resistant infections in the community, the Independence Health Department (Independence, Missouri) participated in an Antibiotic Stewardship Pilot Program with PHF, using a driver diagram to create logic models and pinpoint opportunities for intervention. See how the department used quality improvement to select interventions to promote optimal antibiotic use through both the public health and healthcare systems.
On Friday, October 11, representatives from the Independence Health Department and the other two pilot sites will visit PHF Headquarters for the 2013 meeting of the Antibiotic Stewardship Advisory Group to discuss continuing the antibiotic stewardship program, and developing further collaborations between public health and healthcare. |
