PHF Webinar: Using the Core Competencies to Support Workforce Development
Join the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the City of Milwaukee Health Department, and Public Health Foundation (PHF) for a webinar on May 13, 2024, from 12-1pm ET. Presenters will discuss how they used the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) to assess their workforce skills and competencies needs and are addressing identified gaps through workforce development opportunities. Speakers also will share how the Core Competencies are being used for Public Health Infrastructure Grant workforce development initiatives, health department accreditation, and integrating anti-racist frameworks with the Core Competencies. How Early Care and Education Providers Can Help Children Keep Their Vaccines Up-to-Date
Early care and education (ECE) providers are pivotal in promoting public health, including routine vaccinations to protect children, families, and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. PHF, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), developed an informative toolkit for ECE providers that work across various settings including center-based childcare, family childcare, Head Start, and other early learning, early intervention, and preschool/pre-kindergarten programs. Share the toolkit with immunization staff and colleagues to help support increasing routine vaccination rates. |
