Improving Vector Control Using a Population Health Driver Diagram
 The Public Health Foundation (PHF) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are collaborating on a project to use the Vector Control Population Health Driver Diagram as a framework for developing and implementing quality improvement interventions within five different vector control programs from across the country. The project will benefit participating vector control programs, and also other communities that will be able to use this framework to improve their vector control programs. An Astronaut Did It in Space: It's Time for You to Do It Here
It is influenza (flu) season, the time of the year when primary care physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and others are urging those six months and older to get a flu shot. Astronaut Scott Kelly, who is midway through a full year away from the planet, gave himself a flu shot while orbiting 250 miles overhead aboard the International Space Station. His twin brother, Astronaut Mark Kelly, received the same flu vaccine on earth. However, an alarming number of healthcare professionals will not. Help curb the spread of flu with helpful resources and share what has worked in your community to increase vaccination rates.

A Tale of Three Cities on the Journey to Accreditation
 What do the health departments in Ann Arbor (MI), Missoula (MT), and New Orleans (LA) have in common? They each approached PHF in 2012 on their journey to accreditation. They had unique needs, timelines, resources, and experiences. Yet each benefited from using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) process to solve challenges -- both programmatic and administrative. Do You Employ New Public Health Graduates? Changes Are on the Horizon!
 The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) is the accrediting agency for schools and programs in public health at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels. CEPH is in the midst of one of the most significant changes in decades to the curricula for Master of Public Health students. These proposed changes have been made in response to years of feedback from employers and graduates about knowledge and skills needed in the public health workforce of today and in the future. In her PHF Pulse Blog post, CEPH's Executive Director Laura Rasar King requests that you provide feedback on proposed changes to the accreditation criteria for schools and programs in public health through January 8, 2016.
