Dear Subscriber,

PHF E-News brings you the latest information on how you can use performance management, quality improvement, and workforce development to improve the quality and performance of your organization and the health of your community.
Planning for Success: Aligning Accreditation Plans

The Public Health Foundation (PHF) is pleased to announce Aligning Accreditation Plans, a new on-site service to help agencies ensure that the various plans required for health department accreditation are complementary and effectively tracked within the agency's performance management system. Ready to get started with aligning and successfully implementing your health department's accreditation plans? Learn more about this new service.

PHF Seeks Feedback for Next TRAIN Platform

PHF is seeking feedback from learners and course providers to help inform the development of a new Learning Management System platform for TRAIN, the nation's premier learning management network for professionals and volunteers who protect the public's health. Read a brief overview about the future of TRAIN and submit your feedback by completing a questionnaire before August 31, 2015.

Get Ready for National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM), an annual reminder for all to get vaccinated against infectious diseases. To help you promote the importance of vaccinations to the public and disseminate the latest recommendations to immunization professionals, PHF supports NIAM with immunization resources for use in your community. See the publications, fact sheets, and posters from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other resources for use this August and beyond.

Celebrating the Anniversary of the 2014 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals

Council on Linkages LogoIt has been just over one year since the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) adopted a revised version of the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies). The Core Competencies are in use in health departments, academic institutions, and other organizations across the United States and beyond, and keeping these competencies current and relevant for the public health workforce is of high priority for the Council on Linkages. Learn about the efforts over the past year that have made the 2014 Core Competencies easier to find, understand, and use in a PHF Pulse Blog post by Kathleen Amos.

This message is a service of the Public Health Foundation (PHF). For more than 40 years, PHF, a national non-profit organization, has been helping health departments with their quality improvement, performance management, and workforce development needs.
