Frederick County, MD Becomes TRAIN's First Local Health Department Affiliate

The Public Health Foundation (PHF) welcomes the Frederick County (MD) Health Department (FCHD) as the first local health department affiliate in the TRAIN learning network. FCHD joins 25 state and three federal agencies that collaboratively build workforce capacity by providing training opportunities to more than 950,000 public health and healthcare professionals. Find out why FCHD is delighted to partner with TRAIN for education, training, and accreditation purposes.

How Organizations and Communities are Using Population Health Driver Diagrams


PHF has been working with communities using population health driver diagrams to address a variety of community health challenges. Development and use of population health driver diagrams continues to expand as communities understand the value the framework offers. How versatile is this framework? Join PHF this November in Chicago at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting for an interactive discussion of national workforce development efforts that are guiding the future of public health. Featuring a panel of national experts, Navigating the Seas of Public Health Workforce Development: What Every Practitioner and Academic Needs to Know will explore new initiatives within public health workforce development and their connections to a long-standing workforce development initiative of the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice, the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. Last month, the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) unveiled a new video titled "Reaping the Benefits of Accreditation Across the Nation." PHF will be omnipresent throughout the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo in Chicago, October 31 - November 4, 2015 leading discussions and sharing the latest resources and tools with public health professionals.
