As you may recall from last month's issue of PHF E-News, the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) are being used by health departments throughout the country to develop workforce development plans as part of the accreditation requirements set by the Public Health Accreditation Board. In addition, the Core Competencies are also being used by academic institutions across the nation for preparing the existing and future public health workforce to address current and evolving needs.
Earlier this year, academic institutions were asked about their use of the Core Competencies in a variety of ways, and the results are in. Find out how academia is using the Core Competencies in Janelle Nichols's PHF Pulse blog post.
