The 40th anniversary edition of the Public Health Foundation’s (PHF) Resources for Learning, a catalog of training courses, educational materials, and other resources for health care providers and the public, will be available online on November 1 in the Learning Resource Center (LRC).

 

With this year’s anniversary, PHF is more dedicated than ever before to improving the public’s health by strengthening the quality and performance of public health practice.  Therefore, a number of new products providing information on essential health topics will be featured in this year’s catalog.

 

The 12th edition of Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases, also known as The Pink Book, will make its debut.  This book contains updated information about vaccine-preventable diseases, principles of and recommendations on vaccination, immunization strategies for health care facilities, and vaccine safety.  

 

Six-page, tri-folded, and laminated child and adult immunization schedules, which include precautions to take before immunizing, are another addition.  These may be purchased separately or as a package with The Pink Book.

 

A number of new books that introduce public health concepts and outline management and leadership practices in public health have also been added.  Essentials of Management and Leadership in Public Health provides a basic foundation for students new to the field, while Public Health 101: Healthy People-Healthy Populations outlines determinants of disease and ways to promote health.

 

Materials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Choose Respect campaign are also available, separately or as a collection.  These products encourage the discussion and development of healthy relationships and are also offered in Spanish.
