Putting the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals into Practice
Public health organizations and professionals across the United States and beyond are using the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) to better understand, assess, and meet their education, training, and other workforce development needs.

To support organizations and individuals in using the Core Competencies, the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) collects examples of how the Core Competencies are being incorporated into workforce development activities. Explore this collection to learn more about how the Core Competencies are supporting a variety of types of organizations and initiatives and spark some ideas for your own organization.

This collection is organized into six sections:

These sections include examples of how organizations have used the Core Competencies, as well as additional resources that are available to support such efforts.

Have a great example of your own to share? The Council on Linkages welcomes examples illustrating use of the Core Competencies in all areas of public health. Share your story today by emailing Kathleen Amos at kamos@phf.org or competencies@phf.org.
