This presentation reflects on progress that was made in the public health field as a result of the work of the Council on Linkages during its first 15 years of operation. Due to Council on Linkages efforts, academic/practice linkages have improved, Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals are guiding curriculum and workforce development, the field is focusing on evidence-based strategies aimed at improving worker recruitment and retention, and combating emerging worker shortages.
