The Healthy People 2010 Toolkit provides guidance, technical tools, and resources to help states, territories, and tribes develop and promote successful Healthy People 2010 plans and to prepare for 2015 or 2020 plans. It can also serve as a resource for communities and other entities embarking on similar health planning endeavors.
The Toolkit includes practical tools, national and state examples, checklists, tips, and resources to get started; engage partners; set priorities, objectives, and targets; manage and sustain the initiative; publish and promote the plan; and measure progress. The Toolkit is organized around seven major "action areas," which were derived from national and state Healthy People initiatives:
The web-based version of the Toolkit offers users enhanced access, navigation, and search capabilities. PHF developed the Toolkit with assistance and guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
