Advancing the public health workforce to achieve organizational excellence
Managing Disruptions and Distractions Matrix

Overview

The Managing Disruptions and Distractions Matrix can be used to maneuver constant disruptions and distractions at home and at work. Used at the beginning of each week, this tool helps to chart a course for accomplishing tasks that are important and urgent. Developed by Public Health Foundation (PHF) Senior Quality Advisor Jack Moran and Performance Improvement Expert Sonja Armbruster, the Managing Disruptions and Distractions Matrix helps shift lost (non-value-added) time to value-added time when distractions are eliminated and avoided. The Managing Disruptions and Distractions Matrix is one of many supplements to the 2012 Public Health Quality Improvement Encyclopedia.
