The Mid-State Health Center Quality Improvement Case Study

Overview

The Mid-State Health Center Quality Improvement Case Study by Sharon Beaty and John W. Moran shows how QI tools and techniques can be applied in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-a-Like. The two quality improvement projects highlighted in this case study are obtaining a behavioral health authorization before the patient leaves, scheduling dual appointments for INR and clinician visit, and providing seamless check-ins and pre-examinations for patients scheduled for more than one appointment. This case study shows how the PDCA cycle can be applied in a clinic.
