This archived webinar focuses on The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) and how it can support community health improvement efforts. The Community Guide is a free resource for evidence-based recommendations and findings from the Community Preventive Services Task Force, an independent, nonfederal, volunteer body of public health and prevention experts. The Community Guide covers many health topics and types of interventions for behavior change, disease prevention, and environmental change; identifies where more research is needed; and complements other decision support tools, such as Healthy People 2020 and The Guide to Clinical Preventive Services.
Originally presented on March 30, 2016, this webinar featured as speakers Shawna Mercer, MSc, PhD, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Katya Seligman, MPH, Health Research & Educational Trust; and Jack Moran, MBA, PhD, Public Health Foundation (PHF), and was moderated by Ron Bialek, MPP, PHF. During the webinar, participants learned more about The Community Guide and pilot activities underway to help hospitals use evidence-based recommendations and findings found in The Community Guide to take action and implement community health improvement activities in collaboration with health departments and other community partners. These pilot activities use the population health driver diagram framework, developed by PHF, to help hospitals and their community partners align and implement actions to address identified population health priorities.
