The Academic Health Department (AHD) Learning Community held a virtual meeting on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. During the meeting, AHD Learning Community member Sophie Wenzel, MPH, spoke about the New River Academic Health Department, which is a partnership of the New River Health District and Virginia Tech's Department of Population Health Sciences. Ms. Wenzel discussed topics such as development of the AHD, the AHD Coordinator position, workforce development activities and Council on Education for Public Health accreditation, funding, student involvement, and joint research projects.
