Academic health department (AHD) partnerships – formal partnerships between health departments and academic institutions – have the potential to enhance the capacity of the organizations involved and offer a variety of benefits.
The
Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) and the
Public Health Foundation (PHF) held their first ever Ask Me Anything focused on AHD partnerships on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 2-3pm EDT. During this interactive virtual meeting, a brief overview of AHD partnerships and the latest updates on the
AHD Learning Community were provided and then the microphone was turned over to participants to ask anything they’d like to know about AHD partnerships. Speakers included C. William Keck, MD, MPH, Chair of the Council on Linkages and AHD Learning Community; Kathleen Amos, MLIS, Director, Academic/Practice Linkages, PHF; and meeting participants who shared their own experiences and expertise, as well as their questions.
