A virtual town hall meeting on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) will be held by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and the Public Health Foundation on December 19, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm EST. The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) is in the process of reviewing and revising the Core Competencies, and this meeting is an opportunity for senior deputies, human resource directors, accreditation coordinators, and others in state and territorial health departments to provide feedback on how the Core Competencies can be improved to better serve the needs of health departments and the public health workforce. During the meeting, an overview of the Core Competencies will be provided, the review and revision process will be discussed, and participants will have a chance to share their thoughts on the Core Competencies with fellow public health professionals and the Council on Linkages.
