Get Smart About Antibiotics Week is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This annual observance raises awareness of the threat of antibiotic resistance and the importance of prescribing and using antibiotics appropriately.
The campaign aims to reduce the rate of antibiotic resistance by:
- Increasing adherence to prescribed antibiotics
- Improving antibiotic use in a variety of healthcare settings
- Explaining the difference between bacteria and viruses and how bacteria become resistant
- Providing information on antibiotic use in veterinary medicine and animal agriculture
The Public Health Foundation (PHF) partners with CDC’s
Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work Campaign to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics by disseminating informative resources.
In observance of
Get Smart About Antibiotics Week, PHF is offering a 20% discount on related resources from PHF’s
