The Academic Health Department (AHD) Learning Community will be hosting its first in-person meeting during next week’s American Public Health Association (APHA) 139th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 8:30-10 am. This meeting will occur in Meeting Room 4 of the Renaissance Hotel and is open to all APHA Annual Meeting attendees.
The AHD Learning Community aims to facilitate exploration of the AHD concept and encourage sharing and collaboration between public health professionals to support the development, maintenance, and expansion of AHD relationships. Hosted by C. William Keck, MD, MPH, Chair of the AHD Workgroup, and featuring presentations by AHD Learning Community members, Bryn Manzella, MPH of the Jefferson County (AL) Department of Health and Charles Hamilton, DrPH, MPH of the University of Tennessee Department of Public Health, this meeting will introduce both the AHD concept and the AHD Learning Community. It will also highlight existing AHDs and their successes and provide information on how to get involved in the Learning Community.
