The Public Health Foundation’s (PHF) TRAIN Team is excited to announce the newest member of our affiliate community: Indiana -TRAIN. Indiana is the 25th state on TRAIN and the 28th affiliate overall.1

Indiana-TRAIN will be managed by the Indiana State Department of Health, which is eager to provide access to training that can help improve competencies and performance of public health workers throughout the state.

“Public Health Foundation’s TRAIN platform will allow the Indiana State Department of Health to collaborate with other state entities and partners to address day-to-day training needs along with the state’s most complex public health issues,” explained Dr. Kristin Adams, Director of the Office of Public Health Performance Management at the Indiana State Department of Health. “Indiana is excited to join the TRAIN team in an effort to provide an outlet for quality public health trainings that will directly benefit all Hoosiers.”

A formal announcement will be posted to PHF’s website when Indiana-TRAIN’s customized affiliate site (affiliates are states, national organizations, or educational institutions who have purchased a customized TRAIN portal) is live and ready for learners to embark upon training. In the meantime, Indiana learners can create a free TRAIN account on TRAIN National’s portal and register for courses and trainings.

The addition of Indiana-TRAIN indicates the growing interest that state health departments, public health training centers, educational institutions, and national organizations have with a comprehensive learning management network. Through TRAIN’s collaborative network, affiliates gain access to over 29,000 courses/trainings from nearly 4,000 course providers from affiliate states and organizations in the TRAIN community. These courses are offered for little to no cost which helps curtail travel and training expenses for organizations. With over 700,000 registered learners, TRAIN has evolved into the go-to learning management network for professionals who protect and improve the public’s health.
