Zika Preparedness and Response Using Quality Improvement Tools and Processes

As the public health and healthcare communities respond to the arrival of the Zika Virus in the United States, quality improvement (QI) tools and techniques can be helpful for preparing for and reacting to local transmission. QI's focus on systems and processes can help state, tribal, local, and territorial health departments prepare plans, designate point people, assess gaps, and implement and improve strategies. The Public Health Foundation (PHF) is working with five local health department vector control programs to refine and implement the Vector Control Population Health Driver Diagram. Read how PHF is providing on-site technical assistance and training with QI tools and techniques to increase vector control program efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Myths that Fuel Resistance to Public Health and Hospital Collaboration

This article sheds light on the myths that can stall progress and challenges that healthcare and public health organizations have to moving bravely forward. April's Performance Management Webinar Now Available

Learn strategies to improve a performance management system with PHF's latest webinar, Performance Management: Improving the Improvement, now available online. Over 200 participants learned from PHF's Senior Quality Advisor Jack Moran and two local health departments on how to build, maintain, and improve a performance management system. Continuous Improvement of the Public Health Improvement Resource Center     
 
To provide easy access to the most relevant performance improvement resources, PHF has recently improved the user experience of the Public Health Improvement Resource Center. The redesigned front page now includes streamlined search characteristics and an updated feature with the latest resources. A rigorous review of the Public Health Improvement Resource Center has been completed and all 500+ resources have been evaluated for content, clarity, and relevance. Do you have a great performance improvement resource? Let PHF's team know about it to assist others in public health and continue to help build this growing database of useful resources together.
