TRAIN, the nation’s premier learning management system (LMS) for professionals who protect the public's health, has recently partnered with four new affiliates (affiliates are states, national organizations, public health training centers, or educational institutions who have purchased a customized TRAIN portal):

With these new affiliates, the TRAIN network serves half of the states in the country and, through three national organizations (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CDC’s Division of Migration Health, and the Medical Reserve Corps), reaches many public health professionals outside of the 25 states in the network. Through TRAIN’s collaborative network, affiliates gain access to over 26,000 courses/trainings from more than 4,000 course providers. More importantly, by joining the TRAIN network, affiliates can share their own trainings/courses with other TRAIN affiliates. By linking both state and national affiliates, participant organizations are able to partner in order to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in delivering and managing workforce development efforts.

The number of high quality training, made available through the collaborative partnerships amongst TRAIN affiliates, attracted FL to TRAIN: “The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) had outgrown our previous LMS and FDOH began an assessment process to determine the best enterprise wide solution,” said Shannon Hughes, Director of Workforce Development at FDOH. “As we looked at the myriad of LMS’on the market, the one LMS that we kept coming back to was TRAIN and the availability of training topics already in the system.  Our goal to provide high quality public health training courses to our workforce will be greatly expanded by joining TRAIN.  We are pleased to be joining 27 other affiliates that have in common a goal to educate and train highly qualified and competent workforces.”

The recent expansion of TRAIN indicates that state health departments, public health training centers, educational institutions, and national organizations have with a learning management system that spans across jurisdictional borders. TRAIN is the most comprehensive learning resource for public health professionals and the sole solution available that offers affiliates value-added benefits.
