About Me:
As of August 1, 2011, I assumed the role of Academic Health Department Coordinator, a newly formed position between the University of Tennessee Department of Public Health and the Knox County Health Department. I earned an MPH from the University of Tennessee in August 2010, and hold the Certified Health Education Specialist credential. My research interests include the evaluation of AHDs and public health workforce recruitment, training, and retention.
In the AHD, my areas of responsibility include coordinating a centralized student process at the university and health department, facilitating workforce development, and serving as a liaison to increase research, service learning, and training opportunities between public health academia and practice. I also conduct annual evaluation of our AHD using a logic model-based evaluation plan.
I am eager to collaborate with others working to grow and enhance AHDs, especially AHDs with a full-time shared coordinator position-a model we have to be found highly effective!
