Looking for training to help build knowledge and skills related to the PI Competencies? Tailored course searches are available for the
TRAIN Learning Network to help in finding training opportunities. The TRAIN Learning Network contains thousands of courses relevant for public health professionals – ranging from distance-based to in-person, from archived webinars to interactive training – from 3,000 course providers. Access to TRAIN is free; simply create an account or login at
www.train.org.
Tailored course searches for TRAIN have been developed for three of the PI Competencies. These searches will retrieve courses aligned with these PI Competencies. While not every course retrieved may be the right fit for your needs, the searches will provide a selection of courses that you can explore to find one that works for you. Click on a link below to run a search in TRAIN for courses related to that competency:
- PI Competency #1: Demonstrates how data and information are used to improve individual, program, and organizational performance (e.g., selection and use of valid and reliable quantitative and qualitative data, data-driven decision making, data management, performance measurement)
- PI Competency #7: Evaluates the effectiveness and quality of the organization’s quality improvement, performance management, and workforce development plans and practices
- Search Option 1: Retrieves courses focused on program evaluation
- Search Option 2: Retrieves courses focused on using performance management and quality improvement to evaluate and improve programs
- PI Competency #15: Coordinates development and implementation of an organization-wide performance management system
These search strategies were developed in July 2019. The searches are dynamic and will generate a list of results based on the content in TRAIN at the time you run the search. The number of courses in the search results will change as courses are added to and removed from TRAIN.
