End Date: 5/7/2013

The next Agency, Systems, and Community Improvement webinar, entitled “The PDCA Cycle for Change Leaders and Handling Change Resistors” will be held on May 7, 2013 from 2-3 PM ET. The webinar, co-sponsored by the Public Health Foundation (PHF) and National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), will highlight key factors to creating change related to quality improvement (QI) in public health.

Whenever an organization embarks on a change in the way it conducts business, resistance arises among those who feel they may be impacted. Organizational change or transformation is not a process that is predictable. The adoption of change is delicate and often requires those involved to have a personal transformation. PHF’s QI consultants will provide insight into:

  • challenges in identifying and dealing with change resistant behaviors
  • the role of change leaders within organizations wishing to adopt change
  • strategies for building behavioral change skills among organizations
  • tips to successfully lead change

Speakers include:

  • Jack Moran, MBA, PhD, Senior Quality Advisor at PHF
  • Sonja Armbruster, MA, Community Health Assessment Coordinator at the Sedgwick County Health Department
  • Les Beitsch, MD, MPH, Professor of Health Policy and Director of the Center for Medicine and Public Health at the Florida State University College of Medicine

The webinar will be recorded and available on TRAIN. To learn more about tools for change related to QI, visit PHF’s QI resources or the Public Health Improvement Resource Center.
