Advancing the public health workforce to achieve organizational excellence
Taking Action: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

Taking action to address Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) internally within your health department and externally with your community is critically important to public health. This often is a daunting task with many health departments not being certain where to start or how to continue their DEIJ journeys. In today’s climate, DEIJ efforts are increasingly under attack, making progress in this area even more difficult to achieve. The Public Health Foundation (PHF) is pleased to offer an array of DEIJ consulting services tailored to meet your agency’s needs. These services are provided by Jade Ramsdell, a public health practitioner who has been successfully addressing DEIJ and taking action in governmental public health.

Services

  • DEIJ Assessment/Environmental Scan – It is important to be clear about current and past efforts, what has and has not worked, and the current political environment. This assessment can be internally or externally focused.
  • Designing and Implementing a DEIJ Action Plan – A unique aspect of PHF’s service is using quality improvement methods and tools in designing and implementing the DEIJ Action Plan. This helps ensure alignment with an agency’s goals, strategic plan, and other documents guiding agency actions. Using quality improvement methods and tools also allows for making adjustments to the DEIJ Action Plan along the way.
  • Meeting You Where You Are – PHF is committed to talking through your agency’s needs to ensure the process will meet your agency wherever it is and offers coaching assistance to help guide you forward. Blocks of coaching hours can be purchased to be used over a period of time.
