Performance Management Accreditation Preparation and Support

Overview

When seeking accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), many organizations are challenged by Standards and Measures under Domain 9: Improve and innovate public health functions through ongoing evaluation, research, and continuous quality improvement. This includes Measure 9.1.1: Establish a performance mangagement system, and Measure 9.1.2: Implement the performance management system.

In practice, performance management means actively using data to improve performance, including the strategic use of performance standards, measures, progress reports, and ongoing quality improvement efforts to ensure an agency achieves desired results. With the right tools and resources, organizational integration of performance management and quality improvement is possible.
