Asthma is one of the most common and costly diseases in the United States. An estimated 20 million Americans (1 in 15) suffers from asthma at a cost of $18 billion annually (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America). With a charitable contribution from AstraZeneca, the Public Health Foundation (PHF) completed the final phase of We Can Do Better: Improving Asthma Outcomes in America, which brought together asthma stakeholders in the public health community to use quality improvement (QI) tools and methods to identify areas where they could improve asthma management outcomes. The final project helped participants learn where they could have the greatest influence in improving asthma outcomes and led to development of several products. View the one-page summaries that describe the QI tools, lessons learned and products developed as a result of this QI demonstration project:
All participants received training on QI tools and methods from John W. (Jack) Moran, PHF’s Senior Quality Advisor. Learn more about PHF’s performance management and QI services or complete an inquiry form to talk with one of our staff members.
