AHD Webinar: How Academic Health Department Partnerships Support Recruitment and Retention

September 18, 2023, from 3-4pm EDT

Academic health department (AHD) partnerships offer a variety of benefits, such as increased health department capacity, placements for students, and recruitment and retention of staff. Join the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for an interactive webinar focused on AHD partnerships on September 18, 2023, from 3-4pm EDT. Join the Council on Linkages for September 26th Meeting

Join the Council on Linkages for its next meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 2-4pm EDT. This meeting will provide updates on Council on Linkages initiatives, including the Academic Health Department Learning CommunityCore Competencies for Public Health Professionals, and Council on Linkages contributions to rebuilding the public health workforce. The meeting will be held virtually, and all who are interested are welcome to attend. Join PHF at the 2023 Public Health Learning Forum and TRAIN Learning Network Annual Meeting

October 16-19, 2023

This year’s meeting will be held in Richmond, Virginia, with the theme "Rebuilding the Public Health Workforce." Training and tools will be provided to support public health workforce development, assist with the effective use of TRAIN, and build governmental public health workforce capacity. Additionally, the meeting will provide opportunities to create and strengthen relationships with others in the governmental public health community. Attendance is limited to 200 participants. Registration is open for the 2023 Open Forum: Next Generation in Indianapolis, Indiana, September 27-29, 2023. This year's theme is "Transforming Public Health for a Resilient Future: Equipping and Empowering our Workforce to Advance Health Equity," providing public health practitioners an opportunity to learn and engage with peers around critical topics currently facing both the public health and healthcare workforce. Join PHF in discussions on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals and communication and promotion strategies to build organizational relationships.  Learn more and register today.

The American Public Health Association (APHA) will be holding its 2023 Annual Meeting & Expo on November 12-15, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. This year's theme is "Creating the Healthiest Nation: Overcoming Social and Ethical Challenges." Join PHF for a Council on Linkages session co-sponsored by the Academic-Practice Caucus on Strengthening the Public Health Workforce as well as a session on Academic Practice Partnerships.
