About Me:

Going back nearly 15 years when I started my graduate-level training, I always felt drawn to the practitioner side of an issue.  After a long, strange trip including working in the private sector for 2 years, I found myself back in academia as a staff person in a medical school.  That fired me up to go back to school and complete the PhD I started 6 years earlier, while still allowing me to work full-time in a community-based academic setting.  When my current position was created, it was a perfect fit; I can be thought of as the "in-house academic" in a local public health department.
