About Me:

Although I have an Associate degree in Allied Health, a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education degree, I was able to complete my Bachelor of Science and my MEd degrees through my service to America with AmeriCorps, most especially my last service tour in 2009-2010. I was a Disaster Preparedness Outreach Specialist. This opportunity allowed me to extend my population base to the entire county of El Paso, Texas. I was able to research resources and present disaster preparedness training to over 10,000 people both directly and indirectly. I was able to acquire, translate and either present or distribute disaster preparedness material through websites originating from the American Red Cross, FEMA and NIMS Training, in at least seven different languages here on the US/Mexican Borderland. Those languages included but were not limited to: Farsi, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Viet Nim, Korean, and Portuguese.

Public Health Education: I serve as a health advocate for special needs populations, most specifically disaster preparedness for special needs populations, seniors, visually impaired, low vision impaired and hard of hearing or deaf populations, and special needs populations 0-3.

Public Outreach: Face to Face and Global Media. I function as an agent of positive social change, assisting in research and public health education and outreach. Currently my main focus is dental health and military mental health, most specifically for military families and wounded warriors.
