Is your health department applying for Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) accreditation? TRAIN, a national learning network that provides thousands of quality training opportunities to more than one million professionals who protect and improve the public's health, can support accreditation efforts. Specifically, TRAIN offers accreditation assistance specific to workforce development areas under Domain 8 and Domain 9.
TRAIN affiliates - state and federal agencies and academic institutions that operate branded web portals on the national TRAIN platform - as well as non-affiliate agencies can use TRAIN to:
- Select and take courses using nationally adopted competencies such as the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) (PHAB Measure 8.2.1 A)
- Include quality improvement (QI) courses in a QI plan (PHAB Measure 9.2.1 A)
- Improve workforce development by identifying and addressing gaps in competence (PHAB Measure 8.2.1 A)
- Create training plans (PHAB Measure 8.2.1 A)
- Document and track employee progress and attendance in workforce development activities (PHAB Measures 8.2.2 A)
